Finding and Using a Composition’s Heart as an Interpretive Guide

Workshop description:

As both a piano and composition teacher, John Burge has often found that a great motivator during a lesson with his students is to ask them where the heart of a piece they are working on is located and how this passage should be emphasized and shaped. This will be the focus of the workshop as Dr. Burge works with students on Contemporary Canadian repertoire
