CST 2026 Registration – Piano Classes

Compositions by Boris Berlin will no longer be eligible for performance as part of the Contemporary Showcase program. For artistic programming purposes, works by Christopher Norton, Leonard Cohen, Sarah McLachlan, and other composers whose music is rooted in popular styles fall outside the scope of the festival, and are therefore not eligible for performance. If you have any questions or require clarification, please feel free to reach out to the Festival directly.
Class numbers and entry fees are listed below. Music must be by Canadian Composers. Performers may play either one, or two selections. Memorization is optional. All classes will be held in cooperation with the Royal Conservatory School of Music, in classrooms provided in the Royal Conservatory of Music Telus Centre for Performing Arts.
All classes are non-competitive. Performers will enjoy feedback from expert adjudicators in a supportive environment. Participants in the Advanced Clinician’s Workshop can expect a masterclass environment, with ample time for discussion and to work through material. Resources for suitable repertoire include the ACNMP syllabus, RCM syllabi, or the Conservatory Canada “Contemporary Idioms” Syllabus.
